Since Vision2 is a negative film stock does this mean I can't view it through a projector like reversal film?

Does this also mean I need to transfer everything to video or DVD before viewing it?

    THANKS!
    Dennis

    Yes and Yes.

however, I would not recommend DVD as an initial mastering source. Better off going to mini-dv or digital-8, editing, and then making a dvd AND a mini-dv or digital 8 edit master.

Alex, sorry to keep bothering you with this topic, but in regards to Dennis' question here: If you go ahead and shoot with Vision2 negative film, and you really do want to cut and splice it manually, can't you have a work positive printed? And then, of course, you can have an "answer" positive printed. He could then run this positive through a projector. This is how I did it with the one 16mm film I made in school. Is there something significantly different with super 8? Thanks for your time and patience. Tim

Basically, whatever you can do with a 16mm negative, you can also do with a super-8 negative.

However, I have not done any research to see if anyone is making super-8 prints directly from the negative stock, and I'm don't know if the super-8 negative has the necessary edge coding so when you cut the positive print you'll have the necessary edg coding so you can then go back to the negative and make a negative cut that matches the film postive edited film.

Alex, yeah the coding is the question. Thanks for your time and interest. Tim
